The Journey of an IT Contractor
In August 2016, I took a leap of faith in my career by registering Sweat-Digital as a Limited company in the UK. This move allowed me to leverage my accumulated IT skills and enter the UK IT Contracting Market. My primary focus has been IT infrastructure, with a deep understanding of On-Premise Data Centres, 3rd Line Engineering, and various IT projects, including Merger and Acquisition IT initiatives.
Evolving into Cyber Security
After nearly two decades in IT Infrastructure, I made a strategic sideways leap into Cyber Security. Recognising the significant skill shortage in the industry, I immersed myself in Ethical Hacking studies in 2022. In this ever-evolving field, continuous learning is crucial. My goal for 2024 is to secure contracts that align with my growing expertise in Cyber Security.
Embracing Artificial Intelligence
The advent of AI, particularly since ChatGPT’s public launch in 2022, has sparked both excitement and concern in the tech world and beyond. Whilst some fear job displacement, I believe in focusing on AI’s potential to streamline workloads and create new market opportunities. At Sweat-Digital, we’re actively integrating AI tools like ChatGPT modules and exploring local AI solutions such as Ollama and PrivateGPT to enhance our services and stay at the forefront of technological advancements.
